Guys,
You all want something from IV and will contribute only if that something is being pursued. I would look at it other way, IV has no money on its own, so if you do not contribute there is very little IV can do for you. so first contribute and then let us have a discussion on what needs to be done.

I dont see anything about the law suit on OH site.
Can someone explain what "Temporary Restrain Order" would do if it were successful. It sounds to me that the lawsuit is asking the court to temporarily invalidate the July visa bulletin so that USCIS will be forced to accept the applications. Is this a reasonable understanding? Any lawyers here?

I'm on Schedule A. My attorney filed my I-140/485/EAD on July 30 and it reached USCIS on the 31st. I am now waiting for the Receipt Notice which my lawyer says may take three to four weeks.
I keep on praying that my I-140 will not be returned due to some mistakes in filing. My lawyer filed I-140 using the new fee. Is this correct?

there was a serious security lapse in issuing green cards, FBI Security check was bypassed, the USCIS might have given the visa to even terrorists.

i think AC21 doesnt impose a limit on the number of hops ...
can u provide source where u saw this?
i never saw such a limit anywhere but i wouldn't be surprised if frequent job-hops raise red-flags during adjucation.
i am also interested in the post-AC21 continued employment issue (indianguy's original question)

I know this has been discussed in the past on this and other message boards but I wanted to hear some more opinions about it. What is the value of green card to you?
I know different ppl have different reasons like ability to switch jobs, ability to travel freely, ability to have a job for spouse etc. All said and done how many of you would like to go back to your home countries in the next 5-6 years? I know a lot of people have issues such as aging parents back home or they simply don't see themselves living in a foreign land forever. I guess my question is what percentage of ppl aspiring for a GC view it as a convenience vs percentage of ppl who actually see it as a path to settling down in US for good.

IV can you please shed the light on this. EAD is a step closer Greencard. One will eventually get one. Even when some one is waiting on EAD he/she almost have all the benefits of GC except to renew each time

Please make appropriate changes to the letter stating the we are also the victims of DOL's backlog elimination center and at every stage of this process its taking years to get through. Mail your letter and completed Form 7001 to Ombudsman's office and lets see what they do it about it. Please post any responses you receive from Ombudsman's office.

called CA senators, as I am outa state they said they are not entertaining outa state calls at this point...huh!!

Thanks for letting us know about your friends. At least we can see that USCIS is trying to clear 2004 applicants. They will be taking care of 2005 soon then. :D

Those comments were made by the President before the Senate Democrats press event. In fact one reporter asked Sen. Reid about the President's comments. It is not possible the Senate democrats do immigration press event on the Hill without the concurrence of the President.
We think that the President is trying to make his sincere push for the reform which requires a bi-partisan support. He did not say that he is taking immigration off the agenda. So this article is misinterpreting the comments of the President.

I am on OPT right now & my wife is on F-2 visa. We went to New York DMV to get her learners permit. They wouldn't allow her to get the permit as the school on I-20 is not in New York. Its so weird. They gave me NYS license due to my EAD card, but they say they cannot give her the license as the I-20 has to show the school in New York State. Anybody here has any recommendation??? Has anybody on F2 with I-20 from a different state gotten drivers license in New York??

I am trying to pay thru PNC Bank. When trying to add IV, there are 2 options. One is With number and the second Without number.

I think it would be without a number. Now that depends on which number? If they need an account number then, yes no account number OR you could use your IV handle as the account number. Different banks have different methods of BILL PAY.

Thanks, we expect some of the offices will say this. There can be lot of answers to this question. One way to respond is -
"For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"
Please always end the call on a cordial note thanking the Staff member.
This makes perfect sense, and thanks for the suggestion, it definitely came to use when I called the office today.
When my statement was put in this angle, Sen. Brown, Sen Greg, Sen McConnell's office took note of it, and thanked me. I told them that immigration is being held hostage with words like amnesty, and if such rhetoric is taken out, common solutions can be found between reps and dems.
