Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.

EVen though I was stuck in labor certification for 5 years and was able to file for my last stages before the mess, still I feel other folks in this immigration community should not be stressed like me . So, even though I can't make it to the immigration rally, I am contributed $100 rightaway and will try to convince my other colleagues on the same boat to contribute.

It means they have used 90K Visa out of 140-150K ..it means 50K visa left for next 5 month..not sure how much visa dates wlll be moved.
Let me help you here: the USCIS receive 2.5 million applications in july and august 2007 ('The surge'). For most of the ones who applied, I don't think we will see the dates move much in the near future... But I don't know so, keep the faith. Miracles are still possible

Why the double standard of Democrats??? Why the hell this philosophy is not being used for illegal??? Why the hell they opposing AZ law?

Imagine what would have happened if they put a fraud fee to every employer caught employing an undocumented. It would have helped reduce undocumented crossing and employed by US employers but also used the same money from fraud penalty to secure the borders.

You can get NJ DL on reciept and employers letter. Only thing is you need to go to Trenton or other service centers and not in local office. I got it few months back when I was in you situation.

I filed AP on Jan 4th 2008 and today i saw soft LUD on that and no update status. Seems that some of other members also got soft LUDs on APs today. Dont know what that means? Looks like it take 3-4more months to get AP.

Just as you took initiative to post this message...Start a Poll of who are willing to Join you with this initiative--Of Donating to IV,with this one-point agenda.
Once you have 5-10 people behind you and you look serious enough, IV can guide you with your initiative. As you might know already that there are no full-time employees in IV to pickup requests.
I totally understand that you would want to "part" with money only with some kind of promise. That's totally normal. But, just to get your 'Donation', IV or any member will/can not make any false promises.
After I-140 approval if we are allowed to file 485 that will give us big relief, Willing to contribute big time if IV can make this part of its agenda

Not true. Whatever they can outsource, its already gone. There are certain position where the clients demand onsite resource. I am not supporting this bill in anyway, I hate infy as much as I hate this bill.
I agree to gc28262. Back in 90s when outsourcing started, major Indian IT companies used to have a 50-50 onsite/offshoe component (for large clients/projects). This has now come down to 10-90 onsite/offshore because clients are getting the same level of service.
For example, it was once believed that DBAs must be located at client site. Now, we often see DBA support provided from India.
This causes too much load on the onsite person but who cares as long as there is a steady supply. The bill will simply change the model to 5-95 . Out of these 5 positions cut-down , 4 might be H1 but at least 1 is a citizen/LPR whose job will be eliminated. Along with that will go the number of services these 4 H1s were using in US and the amount they were contributing to US economy.
USCs who think this bill will create more jobs for Americans are living in a fools world.
