Any plans in your mind how to get every member pay $1 every month?
I gave my opinion on this in past. As we are dealing "very intelligent" community, need straight forward agenda to collect donation. Vague ideas don't work for collecting donation in our community. Pappu took a nice initiative and published 5 high level agenda items. Lets analyze how much money each agenda will need and we can move forward from there.

I checked with NSC today regarding our AP filed on Oct 8th, 2007. I was told that they are processing September 16th right now and it would be few weeks before they get to mine.

Finally I got my lawyer to start an inquiry at the Atlanta PERM center. My case is pending since Feb 07.

Thank you very much for your reply. It gave me a mental peace. Do anyone believe if I go to the local office on next tuesday they will do something for me ?
i don't think going to local office is going to help. be patient you should get it. In my case it took almost 4 weeks since it got approved to physically receive AP. Although I don't know how long my lawyer held it prior to mailing it to me.

I140 Premium - 03/02/2011. Both 140 and 485 approved on 03/15/2011 - Current Law Firm received 140 approval notice on 03/18/2011, Previous company's law firm received 485 approval on the same day.
how come you joined the company in 11/2010 and applied on 12/22/2010 ? my lawyer is in the 3rd week and finalizing job description. she says advertising takes 30 days, pwd takes 6 weeks, etc etc, and that it cannot be approved without atleast 90 days of prepwork.

Dont assume that people who gone back to India and working a manager are living happily without any issues.
One of my friends whome I used to work in 2005 was promoted to manager in 2007. Now he is in a dilemma whether to continue to go up the ladder or come back doing technical stuff. Salary wise he is not getting that much and he doesnt know how the company will do infuture. It all depends on US economy. If you are looking for 18L above salary, then it is very very tough to get a job in india.

We pay tons of fees to USCIS and wait for more than six years for GC and yet some shitty senator who does not know anything about immigration comes and rattles on stage.
The hearing should have started with the Ombudsman reports as a basis. Then the hearing should have asked USCIS for solid data like -
How many applicants from year 2001-2007 are pending? In what year, category, country? (to show the trends of backlogs)
How much percentage of applications were processed on annual basis compared to the limit? What is the inflow and the outflow?
What are the customer satisfaction levels for USCIS?

i had heard a lot of ppl everywhere talk abt "new numbers will be available from oct.".....due to fiscal year starting.....now that oct visa bulletin is out and there are no EB3 numbers for india as "current"....did they mean november visa bulletin which will release mid october?......or is bridge amendment the only hope for us Schedule A professionals now?

Some of you have not posted much. Obviously, you found lot of things on this site that piqued your interest. I appreciate the fact that you did not hesitate to pull the trigger. I hope the final round starts with a person who visits this site regularly, find helpful suggestions and tips, and is generally happy with things moving in the right direction and knows IV is an important part of this process. Even though he supports the rally, he cannot come because he probably lives on the west coast, but would have definitely attended the rally if he or she were working in NJ, MD, PA, VA or any other neighboring states. He doesn�t have many questions to ask, but once in a while she does have a quick question, but rejects that idea because of the process involved. She knows that a user id is required to post any questions.

I agree with this little bit but to implement will be tough. There are people coming into US on h1 and leaving every year from big indian consulting companies. It should be like below.
1. Priority date should be date when the person enters the country.
2. The person should have paid taxes consecutively for n years(n=3.4.5...)
3. This should be applicable only for H1 and not for any other visa categories.
If the above is not possible, then
1. Labor substiution should be allowed only for the person who is in US continiously for n years(n=3.4.5...) and paid taxes. With this approach, a new comer cannot get the exisitng labor. Win Win to all.

They practically said to DOS, Big Brother, "I don't know" .
How can they not know how many people are standing in line. When you and I take infopass, they can tell your category and priority date and whether you name check is passed or not. How come they are having difficulties in collecting the data.
